Common Questions
Why not handle this internally?
You'd need expertise across infrastructure, security, SEO, and content — that's three or four roles to hire, keep current, and keep busy. Most businesses can't justify that headcount. Our plans give you all of those disciplines on demand for a fraction of what even one full-time technical hire would cost.
What happens when something breaks at 2am?
It depends on your plan. Higher-tier plans include after-hours emergency response with SLA-backed resolution times. All plans include reserved emergency hours for critical incidents. We monitor continuously, so in most cases we've identified and begun resolving an issue before you know about it.
Can we still make changes to our own site?
Absolutely. We manage your platform — we don't lock you out of it. We set up access levels appropriate to your team's comfort with the platform, so you can update content and manage day-to-day tasks without risking the technical configuration underneath. When you want to make broader changes, we're there to advise and implement safely.
What about our data and access credentials?
You own everything. Your site, your data, your credentials, your domain. We manage on your behalf with documented access. If you transition away, you leave with complete documentation and a clean handover — no hostage situations.
Do we need to switch hosting providers?
Not necessarily. Every plan is available with or without Webgold managed hosting. If you're happy with your current host, we can manage your site on their infrastructure. If you'd benefit from our managed cloud environment (and most clients do), we handle the migration at zero downtime.
What's included versus what's extra?
Each plan defines specific monthly hours across service categories — content updates, SEO, security, technical maintenance, strategy, and emergency response. You always know what's included. Work beyond your plan hours is billed at transparent overage rates that decrease as your plan tier increases. Major projects like full redesigns, custom development, or platform migrations are scoped separately.
How much does website management cost?
Self-serve plans start at $200/mo for basic maintenance (Lite). Most small and mid-size businesses land between $400 and $1,100/mo on our Essential tier. Ecommerce stores start at $500/mo. Every plan is available with or without managed hosting. Professional and Complete tiers are scoped through a conversation — pricing is based on your site's complexity and goals.
